Vision
Teaching of Modern Foreign Languages aligns with the concept of “Powerful Knowledge for Global Citizens” in its very foundation; to be able to access, gain understanding of and communicate with people from a variety of different countries and cultures.
Pupils are inducted into the powerful knowledge of the subject as they have the opportunity to learn a Modern Foreign Language from scratch. In learning another language, in turn they develop their literacy through comparing and contrasting the different lexical and grammatical structures. The insight into different cultures is developed through their gradual ability to identify and apply a foreign language.
This skill is recognised to be highly desirable by further education providers and employers, giving them a unique edge needed for future opportunities, and experiences in life.
