Geography Curriculum

Vision

Geography is a subject which helps to broaden pupils’ perspectives, helping them to understand and appreciate the variety of the earth’s places, and the different human and physical processes which help to explain this. We teach Geography to give pupils knowledge of:

  • a diverse range of places – including their defining physical and human characteristics
  • the processes that give rise to key physical and human geographical features of the world, how these are interdependent and how they bring about spatial variation and change over time
  • transferable skills needed to: Collect, analyse, interpret and communicate geographical information, including through qualitative and quantitative skills, including Geographical Information Systems
