Drama Curriculum

Vision

In Drama, pupils are actively learning to create, collaborate and share work that is uniquely theirs.

Drama is a subject that pupils can take great pride in the work they produce and helps pupils grow in knowledge, skill and confidence.

At the centre of learning in Drama stands the application of physical and vocal acting skills to the creation of characters and to communicate meaning to an audience.

Through scripted work, literacy skills are applied and enhanced and pupils build understanding of scripted character’s motivations, their objectives and the application of stage directions to convey a playwright’s intentions.

Overall, pupils are training to be both theatre makers and theatre critics, to gain knowledge on how to apply and evaluate artistic intentions in performance.
